Who shall register the EORI number?

In the case of businesses established in the EU shall be registered by the customs authority or the designated authority of the Member State in which the trader is established. According to this rule in the system of Polish entrepreneurs are not registered in other Member States.

In the case of entrepreneurs from third countries (non-EU) willingness to grant an EORI number must be reported to the customs authority or the designated authority of a Member State before the customs operations in the EU. An entrepreneur can also request a number during their first customs operation at which the EORI number is required (as defined in Community legislation), provided that he had not previously assigned an EORI number in another Member State.
