Porto Alegre is a seaport, with the code BRPOA, that is situated in Brazil, in Porto Alegre which is the capital of the state of Rio Grande do Sul. The port is managed by Administração do Porto de Porto Alegre. It is a medium-sized port that houses a medical facility that can be used in case of emergencies. The port can accept ships of a maximum length of 152.4 meters. The port’s channel is 4.9 to 6.1 meters deep. Mooring occurs at the same depth. The anchor can be dropped to moor the ship. Ships entering the port are subject to compulsory pilotage, and they can also make use of a tugboat. It’s possible to use a crane to unload cargo from 0 to 24 tons and from 25 to 49 tons. Waterfront loading takes place here. Docking services can be used, and also electrical services if there is such a need, as part of minor repairs to the ships. Ship repairs are conducted only to a limited extent.
