Seaport of Accra

Accra is a seaport with the code GHACC, situated in Ghana. It is the country’s principal port. Thanks to the port’s growth, the city has been benefitting greatly from the fishing-related industry. As much as 70% of income comes from this very branch of industry. Moreover, a lot of people find employment here. The port exports fish to other cities and countries, thanks to which the city can thrive properly. It experiences a tropical savanna climate which can also be considered as semidesert. The yearly rainfall level is 730 mm. Rainfall occurs during the two rainy seasons. The main one occurs in April and lasts until July, while the milder one occurs in October. Throughout the rainy season, there are also storms and even local flash floods. Aside from the fishery industry, there is also a strong food, wood and furniture industry. The city also has a university.
