Seaport of Alexandria

The seaport of Alexandria is located on the western shore of the Nile Delta between the Mediterranean Sea and Lake Mariout in Egypt. Alexandria is considered to be the second most important city in Egypt, it has the country’s principal port, and handles more than three fourths of foreign trade. The Port of Alexandria consists of two ports, eastern and western, separated by a T-shaped peninsula. The eastern port is shallow and not intended for large ships. The western port is used for merchant shipping.
